Laila Cunningham is a Westminster City Conservative Councillor for Lancaster Gate Ward. It was a very difficult election for us and we lost Westminster Council for the first time ever. Across three wards we had 8 Conservative Councillors and only 1 Labour Councillor. Now we only have 1 and that is Laila. She is a shining blue light amongst a sea of red and is engaging with the community, campaigning and fighting local causes to ensure Westminster is blue again.
Laila is also the Deputy Chair Political for Westminster North and was ward chair in Lancaster Gate. Before being elected as a councillor Laila has been a Conservative activist for over a decade. Laila is a champion of female entrepreneurs and is part of a Cross Parliamentary Group (APPG) for women in enterprise.
Laila is a qualified Lawyer. After completing her law degree she worked in the city of London as a litigation lawyer.
After leaving the legal profession, Laila set up a tech business called KitchinTable. This is a mobile app that connects remote workers to connect and work together from home. Kitchin Table was featured on the Guardian, the Financial Times and the Telegraph as an industry disruptor. Laila has won multiple industry awards, such as most innovative start up at Web Summit. She was also included in the list of Great British Entrepreneurs.
Laila is a public speaker on female entrepreneurs, she has spoken at Women of Silicon Valley in San Francisco and previous Conservative Conferences.
